Description Colour was here! While ATC had intended to introduce colour for Saint David's Day, production difficulties meant that they were unable to do so. There was no grand ceremony to kick-start the medium (they'd spent quite enough on the rest of it, thank you very much), nor was there much fanfare. Instead, those inquisitive and wealthy enough to have imported colour sets from further afield saw this simple slide in the run-up to the beginning of programmes at 6pm.
What did have fanfare at the time, however, was an extension of ATC's broadcasting time. While the length of each broadcasting day remained unchanged, ATC now saw it fit to broadcast programmes on Sundays, with the first Sunday of programming (besides Sundays on which Saint David's Day fell) being only 2 days later on the 4th.
