The shock of the kick sent Marie to the ground. Kokoro quickly moved to put Marie in a submission hold, again not something was used to or planned on doing, but it was simply too risky to keep using strikes against Marie. She opted to use her legs to put Marie in a chokehold, since the mere thought of bending or moving her midsection in a hold was painful to her.
Marie quickly began kicking and squirming while slapping Kokoro’s legs in a vain attempt to break free. Despite all her thrashing and squirming, Kokoro’s legs only grew tighter around her windpipe. Running critically short on oxygen, Marie used her last remaining strength to backhand slap Kokoro. This made Kokoro release just enough pressure on Marie for her to slither free.
