Desperate to end the fight as quickly as possible, Kokoro wound up a powerful roundhouse kick with the intent of knocking Marie out in one final blow. Unfortunately for her, Marie was able to counter even in her dazed state, although even the blocked kick caused Marie to visibly recoil. She knew that if she had not countered this attack, Kokoro would have knocked her out. Marie pulled Kokoro’s leg down and counterattacked Kokoro before she could free her leg with a knee to the gut. This should have ended the match, but Marie was much weaker than earlier and she could not muster up the energy for the decisive blow needed to knock down Kokoro for good.
