That's what it says in the article you linked me to...
"Some dolls were made before the new designs were finalized; they're refered to as G3.5 dolls. The new designs are refered to as G4 dolls..."
At first I thought it was incorrect, but now I'm thinking; look at there big ugly round heads, they are closer to the Hub ponies than anything Hasbro has ever done, hehe.
