Oh gosh this is terrifying.
A lot of the comments are complimenting this for the nightmarish aspect, and I would too, if I wasn't trying to fall asleep a few minutes before seeing this. D:

I am loving it...
It looks like something that would appear in an art movie, I watched something recently, it was an art movie called mirror mask and that would totally lok like a character in there...
Awesome work, it looks like it could belong in a digital storytelling movie...

Holy crap. Through the combination of a bunch of imagery that doesn't seem to go together normally it really makes it seem like some sort of creature you'd see in your nightmares. The ones where nothing seems right. I really like the color choices too. I'm going to have bad dreams tonight about those eyes.

Best photomanip I've personally seen in months. I love the use of the schoolbook and chalkboard...combined with the sorta scary-looking jack in the box, it seems to be both surreal and reflective - dancing on the fence between childhood fantasy and creepy nightmares.

aite. i know i'm gonna sound like your dime a dozen da lemming here,...but,...
the first thing that catches my eye is those colors noir! that's really a nice scheme girl!
(ok. i'll skip the 'liking the textures part' for fear of pushing the limits of your tolerance.
oh yeah. it's not like it hasn't happened before. *smirk*)
i just think it's a wicked sick twist on the jack in the box thing! and those realistic eyes
staring out at you! e-e-e-e-e-g-g-g-g-g!
and yeah, i can relate to your story as well. had a third grade teacher we all thought
was a witch. used to make us go pick pote salad in the woods around the school!
but then there was this other one,...in college,...classical lit,...g-g-g-g-g-g-grrrooooWWWLLLL!!
hey. i don't know if she put a spell on me or not,...but i was damn sure up for some
after-class tutoring! heh.
erhm.
ok then.
my pestering here is done.
nice job noirster!

This piece is amazing...as always.

twas my second grade teacher that i feared most. her name was mrs lowenstein. i was in first grade when i forst heard the runours from the older kids that she was really a "frankenstein - lowenstein was just a clever cover" and that she was really a witch. i worried all summer about the chances of ending up in her class and of course to my horror my mother opened the envelope of my seocnd grade reg package and of course i had been assigned to her class.
i have always had an overactive imagination (one only needs to look at my art to confirm it) and i worled myself into such a frenzy that i threw up for a week straight at school and was sent home everyday. the last day there i collpased in the hall - seriously. they took me to the hospital and ran all kinds of tests and finding nothing began to ask me what was bothering me. long story short - they set up a meeting with myself and mrs lowenstien to talk and i realized she was not a witch, quite the contrary - she was probably one of the best teachers i ever had. funny what we think when we are kids and how it effects us eh?
so how have you been? - i'm sorry to hear about you set back - keep meaning to note you but school is back in session and my life is insane once again!!!

Ooh, creepy... and I do like the colours a lot. You seem to use these particular colour quite frequently, or at least right now I have that impression. In any case, they work exctremely well, so it's not a bad thing at all.
Very good work, as always, Shelley.
