I heard about the 'MMD drama' just yesterday.In my opinion, (after reading a lot of message and info about it) cultural and language barrier are and will be ALWAYS a problem. (most of all, is the cultural barrier the one that create the 80% of the problems, I think)
But
In this 'drama' the focal point is the WILL of the modelers (conditioned somewhat by these cultural barriers)
For us, they could seem too strict about the 'don't love/don't touch' rule, but this is part of their culture.
In their schools, in their families, (we can say everywhere) the 'Sex' or everything related to it is a taboo, is something to hide to make a 'well controlled and right' society, distant from this 'dirty' thing that can also lead again and again to the circle of the reincarnation (this is what is written in a book I've studied for the university.)
Then, this is why some people there grow up disgusting things related to sex and other insted start to love them (also because, I think, they're attracted by the 'tabooes' that society and 'right culture' declare wrong)
This is my opinion.
However I think they CAN at least touch the eachother. Otherwise how people is suppose to make them interact...? It's a mistery...D:
btw I don't like yaoi very much, I prefer shounen ai.

It's times like these where I'm glad I can't animate with anything to save my life and thus not have MMD so I don't have to deal with all of this drama.=_=;
Opinion time! The makers of the models really should at least elaborate on what is considered "yaoi" or not for their models, that way people will stop having panic attacks over whether or not they can even touch or not. The model creators should also consider that public affection is ok in one culture, but it's not in another and people just go with their culture.

well, you're right. They have to be more accurate of what they consider 'Yaoi' (because when a model hugs another one, It doesn't mean it's in love with the other one...X'D - at least for us....-)

yes, which is why me and a group of friends plus a group on DA are working to make our own Hetalia models...
