Description Update on how I draw eyes from the version in March if you check the old tut it says it'll probs be updated in a few days woops
Drawn on PaintToolSAI but will work on pretty much any painting program! Please note that this is for tablet users.

And it comes with a written walkthrough! !!
  • Draw the sketch/shape of the eye, leaving the pupil blank.
  • Fill with base colours.
  • Add shadows to the whites of the eyes mostly around the top and some around the bottom. Blend the pupil until it has a soft edge using a soft round brush.
  • Using a darker colour and a soft brush, shade the top half of the pupil and draw in the iris. Set layer mode to multiply if you feel like it isn't dark enough.
  • Pick a brighter, more flourescent colour and add highlights to the bottom of the pupil. I used rounded rectangle shapes, dots and lines. Lower the opacity (or don't) to your preference.
  • Take a contrasting colour and using a soft brush, add over the highlights. Lower the opacity to your preference.
  • Darken the lash line and the top of the pupil with layer mode set to multiply and adjust opacity to your preference. Then take a highlight colour of your choice (oranges, reds and golds work well) to add to the lashline where light would hit.
  • Define the top lashes with the highlight colour and the bottom with the darker colour.
  • Draw an elongated shape around the top of the pupil with a hard brush/pencil tool in white and using a soft brush/water tool, blend out the bottom edge. Lower the opacity and use the eraser to erase lines to mimic the shape of anything which may be refleted onto the pupil. Using a hard brush, add white highlights.
  •
Of course you can stop at any step and call it a day, this is just a way to draw a blinged-up eye if anyone wants to go fancy
    Hope this can be helpful!

This is one of the more consistent tutorials I've seen. It's much more useful than the ones that jump from a simple step to a detailed example image and little to no explanation of how to get from point A to point B. I appreciate the care that's put into making sure that others understand the process.
