"So, what the hell is this thing?"

This is inspired by the first moment Aaron and Abe realise they've made something beyond their reckoning. The background dialogue is the conversation about the batteries and the machine running without them, the results of which are summed up in the above question. For me, it's the definitive turning point for them in the movie - their curiosity is such that they cannot go back and it's at this point they exclude the other lads from their experiment.

I was originally going to include the box in this picture (off to the right, what they're looking at), but my focus isn't on the nature of their discovery, but on the characters themselves at the turning point that will lead to the downfall of their friendship. So, they're focusing on the box, I'ma focusing on them.

Artist note: I'm really pleased with the grainy/stubbly effect on Aaron/Carruth's chin/jawline. Tried a new method to achieve it.
