If he is of a different species than Nell and living for eons, than he really has no reason to think of humans differently than of other animals.
And as for killing children... we do the same to animals, so why not? Really, should he be judged by human measure when he is more like a force of nature?
It looks like she is his pet, like a mouse I have as a pet and feed and play with, but any other mouse is a pest and exterminated, something like that.
Is he the last of his kind? Would he act differently towards them?

Yup, just the cloak so far.
I was thinking of using paper like I used on the shoulders already, but leather would be a lot more durable.
If I ever make it that is.
I may just make a version of him in kinda normal-ish clothes. Because he does wear those on occasion when he needs to blend in with mortal folk.
