Description Awhile back, Asakawa posted a drawing titled "Finish this, then find me." [link]
I have been wanting to learn GIMP, so I decided to, well, finish it.
I've learned a lot along the way, this is not perfect I know, but damn if I am not a little impressed.
There is one thing that was reinforced, one basic fact, the basis for any awesome painting is an equally awesome drawing, without that you have nothing.
Which is why this looks as good as it does.

Downloaded the newest version and it works like a charm. I also have Photoshop, they seem to work about the same, just slightly different names.

very nice work on fingers... keep practicing! and try to avoid using the solid black for clothes, it looks better if the main color is a lil lighter, so you can add shadows in addition to lights

Thanks! Yeah, one of the things I learned was, don't use black. Thanks about the hands, I do way better on paper. I had to redraw them in GIMP and they were the last thing to color, and I am so very tired of staring at this....
