Umm... Jack... can I ask you how the hell you did that with the wings ?

Nonagesimal In reply to dipperf [2011-05-10 14:29:52 +0000 UTC]

Yessir.

In the beginning they were very colorful parrot wings.

congratulations on the re-coloring. for a second I thought you actually had a giant wing harness.

There's a lot of work at play here. Each item has also gone through different rendering. In the end, I don't think anything is the exact same photo. Too much time was spent on just those mattresses. They're a blend of HDR effects.

wait, I thought the guy and the matresses were in one picture...

Nonagesimal In reply to dipperf [2011-05-10 16:13:54 +0000 UTC]

It's all one photo.

However, each item in it was edited differently.

So this piece resembles more a composite image.

I'd work on one photo until I liked how say the desk looked.

Then I edited out the desk and made it a separate layer and so on.

Until all the pieces were the ones I liked the most.

I know, I know. you took the wings off an Actual angel.

Nonagesimal In reply to dipperf [2011-05-10 21:40:50 +0000 UTC]

I do have a problem with angel's wings being bird-like. It just makes no sense on scale of the feather to be so tiny. I like using parrots as reference due to the wing shape. The father is more a shovel which would make sense for weight. A humanoid with wings would need a different feather design.

Interesting theory. Have you considered that birds might have been modelled after an angel ? (wing-wise) ? True, God would have a very wide range of imagination, but even humans were supposedly made in his image, why not birds on angels ?

Nonagesimal In reply to dipperf [2011-05-13 01:40:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, the argument there is that angels never have wings in the actual text. Only the higher leveled angels (Cherubim, Seraphim). The six wings of Seraphim would certainly support weight of a humanoid though. *With* bird feathers. So I'm in check.

Yeah.... That reminds me. think you could make a photomanip of a guy with 6 wings ?

Whoah dude, superb shot! What kind of filters did you use if you don't mind me asking?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nonagesimal In reply to misterzubair [2011-01-27 20:52:14 +0000 UTC]

The image is a composite - of the same image!

Each item (dresser, mattress 1, mattress 2, skin, jeans, wings) were all lasso'd out then done in a different manner. I did this by making several versions of the image with Adobe Lightroom. I then created layers of all them together and built an image with the correct look I liked.

I then dodged and burnt elements in it.

Wow man, that's quite the process!

I wish I had the dedication you do on my projects -__- But wow man, it looks freaking perfect! I thought it was a straight up photograph with a filter over the lens. Great job dude, so freaking awesome!
