Description When Saa'ken Yarniss first escaped from Rashex, he was summoned by an anthro mouse mage on the Magic Isle's academy in Mardusion. She fell naively in love with him; Saa'ken's thoughts were on satisfying primal urges. He left her shortly after he and the Firstborn went through the portal she accidentally and unknowingly opened onto Mardusion, and the encounter left the young woman pregnant.

However, the mouse found herself with a growing concern: she never saw her love again, and died in childbirth in terror of the red, white and black ball of fur within her womb ripped her apart and fed upon her. Shortly after, it escaped, and years later, a young black lion anthro with green eyes and a white mane was brought by another mage into the academy.

Trystan as he was named by said mage grew fast and went before the goddess Sikumi herself to seek her approval to learn Emotion magic. He could already control Wild magic to an extent (a rare ability among mages), which was what got him in the door.

Unbeknownst to everyone else, Trystan knew he was vastly different from other anthros in the medieval-fantasy world of Mardusion, and became a powerhouse so strong that casting the hardest magic- using spells on the fly instead of forming elaborate rituals- was easy for him. He rivaled the academy's strongest Master wizards and sorcerers, and the black lion anthro was cast out for fear of causing more chaos in the tower- for many had fallen to his uncontrollable fury and hair-trigger temper. It didn't help that he could mimic anyone's spell without learning the spell itself beforehand! It is a very concerning issue among the Magic Isle that there is a renegade loose. They are trying to find the black lion before it's too late, heedless that there is an alien among them...

Unbeknownst to Saa'ken Yarniss, he's left a son in the world. There's going to be hell to pay when the two finally meet- and even further hell when they ally with each other and Trystan takes his place as the Exalted Sun under the Exalted God Saa'ken. Emotion is Trystan's greatest strength; Saa'ken's is both emotion, cunning and ass-kicking in combat. Here Trystan is, portrayed in his Emotion magic Master's robes (basically an off-the-shoulder sash and a chest-less robe that leaves his pecs bare but covers his stomach and back).

I'm really happy how this came out in the end. On its own in marker, I thought it sucked and that I'd never come up with a piece better than the ceremonial version of Saa'ken Yarniss. I wanted to practice action poses, and the hand foreshortening gave me hell. (Thank you to for letting me pose his hand back and forth!)

The color scheme was hard too, since it was oppositional (red/green) and complementary (orange/green/purple). I'm glad it worked out though. ^^ Very happy with the final piece.

Wow. This is amazing! I love the billowing robe and evil pose. Characters in capes robes or cloaks and who have evil magic are awesome.

Thank you so much! ^^ Trystan definitely has a special spot in my heart and a powerful role to play in the greater thread of the Nonanut story arc. The pose was hell to do, but I'm glad it turned out in the end.

Thank you so much! It's really encouraging to hear when people like my stuff, even moreso that people don't comment much these days in general.

I'm glad you like it! It was a challenge, but I'm happy it came out okay.
