Description Well... the Battlestar Columbia. First of the monsters, built by Picon (Pisces) as an experiment. Many problems through service, many of which were rectified by the time Galactica and Pegasus were constructed. Oddly enough she's the only ship to be lost in an accident (well, an accident which was then exploited by the cylons).

Some fans of the original like to think that the "class name" of The Galactica is the "Columbia Class". Not sure if I'm behind that idea, but nevertheless I've adopted it as the name of the first Battlestar constructed.

For the original I'd say Columbia fits. However with Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock, the reimagined Galactica is of the Jupiter class, which falls with the reimagined naming scheme of naming Battlestar classes after Roman/Greek/Pagan Gods and Goddesses while the Battlestars themselves are named by the colony which ordered them.

Are the Galactica and Pegasus put there for scale comparison? Because if so, that monster is FRAKKING HUGE!!

Yes. Battlestars in this concept are massive, epic, one-of-a-kind space battleship legends.

That's insane. So these ship can hold about 10,000 crew or even more(estimating off of Galactica and Pegasus specs from the wiki), and I don't even want to guess at the firepower that they boast! How in the world do the Cylons manage to ravage the Colonies in your story?

They have even bigger things called mobiles. Those are designed specifically for planetary devastation, as the Cylons have this down to an art (and not needing any "skinjobs" to do it either).

At the climax of the last stand of the colonies, the Battlestar Solaria (which also made it out of cimtar okay) stands up to the Mobile devastating the colonies. The Solaria's last stand buys enough respite for the Colonials to escape, as they woudln't have otherwise.

Your concept is amazing, I guess the Cylons wouldn't need to resort to espionage and sabotage with weapons like that. Do you think you will ever make some works depicting the mobiles?

Very cool, I like the lankiness of this one- almost takes on the look of industrial scaffolding or a modular space station. Well done!

Love your Battlestar Concept drawings, and I collect them all(I even have the old Atlantia you did). Of all of them COLUMBIA is my Favorite.

They are all great work - I hope you put out more of them.
