The light is absolutely perfect!! I love the opening sequence with this little tin can "Palomino" and the massive "Cygnus"... The "Palomino" always reminds me of a little curious rabbit, who encounter the first time in his life a giant, sleeping python... having no idea, in what danger it is!
I saw this movie as a child in the cinema, and remember the gasping "Boaaaah!" of the audience, as "the python suddenly awakes" and all lights of the "Cygnus" went on!
In spite of all the flaws in this movie... the opening-sequence takes my breath away until today...!

Heh. I dunno if my monitor's too dark but I had to screen cap it and brighten it in Photoshop to see it. Poor Palamino might've been better off just limping home.
