Description
This is an oil painting of the marvelous work by ~wendelin THREE EAGLES - Nez Perce .Basically a technical exercise in oils, after which I realized there's nothing I can't paint. It was tedious and required all my patience, but I'm very proud of the result. (Really felt the advantage of computer brushes and speed when I was working with a 00 brush in oil layers...)
I changed his pose a bit to give him that "proud chief" posture I thought he should have.
About two weeks' work.

Nice work...a little confused. Traditional Art/Paintings: you state "Really felt the advantage of computer brushes and speed when I was working with a 00 brush in oil layers." Is this traditional oil painting, or computer generated. Not that it matters just want to know the medium you used...very detailed.

This is of course traditional art, painted in oil on canvas.
After having dabbled in digital painting, I realized how much easier it is than the traditional way.
That's what I meant.

Damn, this is good, might have to try something like this myself one day just to see if I can do a face.
Certainly takes time when you start using the sub 0 brushes.

This is so deserving of a DD. You executed both the strength in the face, the struggle within the lines on the face, and the sadness with the eyes. Stunning

yeah, we'll see if it turns out this good though! LOL I'm working on learning a new painting method, so if it comes out looking lopsided, I don't think anyone will be seeing it! Cheers my friend

WoW. Thats such a great painting, may i ask wether this was canvas or digital? Also you seem to have been able to capture the most interesting aspect of the cherokee (well, to me atleast) which is the relevance of fire to their culture. Thankyou very much for sharing this.
