Maraud was a dog before, a large mixed breed canine. She grew up at the cabin she was ultimately left behind at. It was not uncommon for her humans to leave her outside tied up for a few hours, and would return home later in the evening.

But this very day was the final day she saw them and was the beginning of her becoming lost.

I wanted to do an image from the point of view of Maraud as a dog, all without color (except those haunting tail lights, which were the last reminder of her family). I put a glow of white around her head, to depict on how animals are the pure souls of the planet, and black cracks and smoke coming from the car, showing how humans can break the very world of their fuzzy companions.
