I have had an idea of Enlightened Old World for a couple of months. This idea helps me to imagine a world with less European influence and more unique and genuine influence from Arabo-Persian World, Chinese-Asian World, and Bantu-Africans World.
This map itself encompasses a bunch of interesting (for me) alternative events/timelines such as Greater Nordic Expansion into North America, Green Sahara, Green Antarctic, Trans-Pacific Trade controlled by Polynesians, Asian colonization of NW, and most importantly Mongol Invasion would not happen.
I believe the dissolution of the Mongol invasion will help to Enlighten both the Arabo-Persian and Asian Worlds. Here is why.
For Arabo-Persian:
Islamic renaissance did not end in the 14th century, since Mongol Invasion and Ottoman Rise did not happen. Shia Reformation kicks off in the 16th century in Persia, doubting the Quran. Philosophers then will progress in the same manner as in Europe.
For Asian World:
Although even without Mongol Invasion the Song Dynasty would fall into the dark ages. However, without Mongol Invasion, Chinese people would be more open to foreigners and new things. Scientists and Artisans of the Great Song dynasty will research the ideas of the West, leading to the reformation in Neo-Confucianism.
Lastly, Bantu Enlightenment was put forward with the sole purpose to confront European and Arabian colonization.
Bantu Nations, starting from Kongo, would isolate their nations from any contact with Europeans or Arabs as the Japanese did, in order to stop the slave trade. Because of the Alt Geo "Green Sahara", Bantu people will have guns before the contact with Europeans, and thus they will be able to isolate successfully. Starting from Kongo the slaves trade with outsiders will be prohibited, and all Bantu slaves will stay in Africa. However, Bantu nations would still trade between themselves and other Sub-Saharan nations. Due to specifics of their religion, instead of individualism, they would put forward Collectivism. In the 20th century, they opened to the world, and after they could create successful Communist states along with Tawantinsuyu.
