Description Been having fun with the concept of a cup of coffee made of coffee. It was fun to shoot but a pain to set up. First in a 3 part series.

To those of you who bought a print I'm sending out my love. There's no higher compliment than wanting my work on your wall to look at daily.

Previous guesses on what I used to stick the coffee to the cup:

Make-up and others: lipgloss hairsprayhair gelhair waxhair mousse rimel/mascaraglue for fake eyelashesnail-polishface creamfoundationtooth paste soap shampoo conditionershower gel vaseline bronzer suntan lotion body lotion eye lotion aloe vera cough syrup theater makeup.

Food and other stuff : Jam water sugar-saturated water sweet drink syrup Coffee(that would have been awesome but it didn't work) water with flour egg yolk egg white honey butter milk glue(quite obvious but no)MightyPutty Sugru(this could be a made up name since I have no idea what it is or does) wallpaper paste spit(aka saliva to us well brought up folk)oil coconut oil ionic charge(I wish).

Wacky guesses that I loved and will get their authors featured: a mix of magic and willpower steam which would make this a steampunk coffee souls of the innocent ssspiirit gum well obviously, the cup was self-stick to begin with

I'm updating as fast as i can guiz. I have 250+ comments to get through. The one who gets it right gets a great big journal feature from me. All guesses get 1 llama.

What a really creative idea! I've never seen anything like it - a wonderful twist on the sometimes cliched coffee shot.

The colours are perfect, purple and brown always remind me of chocolate, so when i first viewed this piece it made me think of Cadbury's. The simple, non distracting background works brilliantly and is very complementary. The crop is also very nice. Square photographs work brilliantly when they are well composed like this one. I don't like the white border, but this is just my personal preference. I've found that some artists think adding a white border improves the look of their photos - this piece simply doesn't need it and it stops me from getting lost in the scene.

I have a small problem with the focus. The image could look very delicate with a smaller depth of field and have a great impact with a wider one; but here the focus on the foreground loses it's impact because of the sudden blur between the saucer and the curve of the cup. Also, when i look closely at the grains on the edge of the saucer and immediate foreground they seem a little oversharpened and pixelated.

At first i wasn't sure about the reflective surface of the inside of the cup, as the flash of colour seemed to be distracting at first. But the more i look at this piece the more i like it. I feel without it, the colours could become boring. It's also quite complementary to the purple. Good choice of prop!

I'm impressed by the effort you went to to get the coffee to stick to the cup. It must have been a pain to wash up! It was totally worth it though, because this image is very inspiring, extremely creative and worth every comment and fave it has! Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the critique. You touched upon all the points I would improve if I had to shoot it again, which I might do since I haven't washed the cup yet. I liked the way it looked so much I kept it as is on a shelf

You're welcome sweetie!
It's still on the shelf! I would love to open my cupbord and find a cup made of coffee, it must be quite a sight!

Hei. Thanks for all the s. That's star power for you.

Nope, not petroleum jelly though i'm thinking that would work too. And it's funny how I haven't noticed before until you said tiramisu but that's where the edible quality to it comes from.
