Where the hell are you?

You angrily punch the words into your phone. You had no idea what he could be doing or where he could possibly be, but all you knew was that he didn't even bother showing up, let alone saying anything about it. You were currently visiting the Washington Monument after winning, and you had heard nothing from Peter whatsoever. No one had. Before you could shoot another message, you shove your phone in your pocket. You were too mad to even listen to an excuse at the moment. You talk to Liz to distract yourself and enjoy your time with your team.

Suddenly, the elevator rocks and stops completely.

"Please remain calm. You are completely safe," the worker drawls boredly. Everyone looks of her in fear. Safe!? The elevator just blew up! Taking a deep breath you attempt to calm yourself.

"It's okay, guys. We'll be fine. We'll just help each other up to the emergency exit and get out of here," you explain, trying to calm them down. They nod along and the worker opens the emergency hatch. You get on your hands and knees under it. Without warning, Flash shoves Liz out of the way and jumps onto of your back. You wince as he shouts for them to take the trophy.

"Flash, I swear to God, if you want out of this elevator so badly, I will throw you out of it!" you threaten. He backs off, rolling his eyes to hide his fear of the threat. You sigh in relief as they take turns clambering out of the elevator. You were just about to get Ned out of the elevator when Spiderman broke through the window. Everyone gasps and steps back, allowing him to get through. You help everyone reach him to get out of the elevator.

All that was left was you and your teacher when the elevator starts to fall. You attempt to bite back your scream as it plummets. Luckily, Spiderman caught it. Your teacher scrambles out, reaching in to pull you up. You stand on top of the elevator, about to be pulled up to the top of the monument. Spiderman reaches out to help you up. Unknown to you, encouragement is whispered to him by an AI as he blushes darkly. As you reach for his hand, the web holding the elevator up breaks. You tumble backwards with it, but before you can fall too far, your wrist is caught by a gloved hand. You open your eyes to find Spiderman holding onto you. He pulls you up to where you're arms are around his neck. As he crawls to the top floor, he feels you shaking.

"I-it's okay. You're okay now," he whispers. You pull you face back from his shoulder and stare at him. Why did that voice sound so familiar? He doesn't seem to notice your surprised look as he continues to comfort you. He gently sets you down next to the decathlon team.

"Are you okay?" he asks, steadying you on your feet. You nod silently, studying his mask. Not only had you almost died, but you might know who Spiderman is. He nods to you before swinging away. Your eyes follow him in awe.

"I know him!" Ned shouts excitedly.

Peter stands with his hands in his pockets as he watches the commotion. He was glad everyone was safe. He didn't know it was possible to feel so relieved. Being lost in his thoughts, he jumps when a finger pokes his side.

"Hey," you greet. He looks like a fish out of water as he stares at you. Your hair was ruffed up, and your clothes were a mess, but other than that, there wasn't a mark on you.

"Where were you?" you ask him, studying his face. Before he can answer, Aunt May rushes up to him. She holds his face in her hands, crying about how grateful she was he was safe. You sigh, walking off to give them space. You stand alone, watching everyone being held in their parents arms. It made you feel lonely even though you just knew your dad was busy. Suddenly, Peter comes up beside you.

"A-about where I was earlier-"

"It's okay. You don't have to tell me. I'm just glad your safe," you smile gently. He smiles shyly back and glances at the ground.

"And, Peter?" you ask. He looks at you expectantly, humming in acknowledgement. You grin deviously.

"Thanks for saving me," you kiss his cheek and walk away. He stands frozen where you left him. How did you know? Were you going to tell anyone? Did you just kiss him!?
