The supreme and utter pointlessness of this comic works well for me because it’s meant to be final bit of stupid fun I get to have, since the next comic changes everything. Think of it as symbolic contrast.
Throughout most of this comic's run you've been able to see in advance the name of the next strip by hovering over the black "Next" above. Since no one's ever mentioned it, I'm going to guess that no one's figured that out. Anyway, hovering over it now will give you the name of next week's comic—"A Chat with Death". I'm not looking forward to it.
On another note, do you remember how in Commercial Break Wisp was speaking weirdly? That was actually code, an extremely simple substitution cipher. Since no one's ever mentioned it, I doubt anyone's ever tried decoding it, so I'm mentioning it now.

In SSBB, You can purposely flatten Jigglypuff! One of her taunts deflates her! You could use that thing I just told you . If you want, that is. I can't force you, so I won't try. I don't want to force you either.

So who's gonna "Chat with Death"? Is Sonic going to kill himself accidentally by flying off the edge of the screen as super sonic or something? Or did that smash ball he got have nothing to do with the story at all?

The person who Chats with Death is going to be Fox. Along with every other character, but that happens off-screen. Again, I'm not looking forward to next week.
Of course the Smash Ball had to do with the story. Why would I include it otherwise?

Well, I did know about the holding the mouse over the "Next" icon. But I didn't relize the code thing, thanks for that. Knowing you though, this useless comic will come up again, even if it's just a mere cameo.

How is it that you always chose the popular parrings- unpurposefully? (serriously, JigglyXMK is probably MK's most popular SSBB paring, and one of Jiggly's more popular SSBB parings- she is also offten paired up with Kirby and Olimar XD)

The only reason these three are in this comic is because I haven't used them much and wanted them to have at least one comic to themselves.
Jigglypuff giving a flower to a character was original planned simply to put across that items are still falling and it wasn't just a one-off thing. Plus I thought it fit her character.
Meta Knight was chosen over Dedede because Dedede's hammer is much more visible of an attack. Plus I thought, again, MK fit better.
But generally, yeah. It was all an accident.
