yeah know its lovely but this area was unrecognizable in this furnaces heyday,  there were no trees left back then to be found for miles around they were all cut for charcoal and the air here would have been horridly black and thick hard to breath life expectancy had to be very low for these workers ...but as you can see almost a 100 years later and look how the area has rebound   thanks for your interest dear blue

Jeez that sounds horrible.  I would have been coughing and hacking; no way to Get anything done under them conditions (not for me I can't even be near a person smoking a cigarette without my eyes running and I start to choke and cough.  Don't know how I ever smoked at one time myself.. )


Well, Mother Nature took back what was Hers, in the end!  When will man-kind ever Learn? !!
