This was one of the hardest things I've ever painted. And I'm not really satisfied with it.. I decided to leave it like this, while I've been working on this one for a couple of weeks now. Pity that my scanner didn't show all the details..Acrylics on cotton aquarelle paper. 35,5 x 51 cm.

I don't know why you wouldn't be satisfied with this. It's one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. The use of colors is masterful, and the lighting couldn't be more perfect. There really isn't anything for me to critique on, other than to say great job.

I have to say that it was a little bit of tough love during it's progress. I struggled with finding the "right" feeling for months but with no success. I was so sick of it after a while, and almost considered giving it up a couple of times down the road. Then suddenly one day when i took a break and left it on my drawing desk, the evening sun hit it and lit up the entire piece, and suddenly it felt just right. I decided to never sell it and today it's hanging on my parent's wall

Yeah, I know what you mean. My first painting was a little bittersweet, seeing as something never truly feels good or right until you know it's there. I'm going to have difficulty getting rid of my own works, with all of the sentimental value invested in them.

Exactly, it's funny that it always works that way. Sometimes you even have to wait years before you truly appreciate a pieceof your own. I mean, you can get attached to it when you think of all those countless of hours you put down to establish it, but it's harder to actually appreciate it and see its quality.
I know artists who have been crying when selling their private pieces, one's art almost become our kids somehow

Our brains are wired so weird. xD I know I'm going to bawl half of the time, even if I take a picture of it. I guess they do become like our kids - but if someone paid you for it, you have to give it up. v_v
