Very impressive designs for both vessels. I particularly like the fighter-bomber design, and it can defend itself from behind.

I believe a pilot of such a hightech machine relies more on advanced computers and sensors than on his poor human eyes. The glass (or whatever material it is) is actually decreasing pilot's defenses, solid armored hatch would be more reasonable

yes!! and i think all imperial fighters in star wars have same problem

materials advanced enough for trans-atmospheric fighters would incorporate transparent armor for pilot visibility otherwise it would be a flying deathtrap. electronics fail, redundancies fail, and if left to it a human pilot will trust their own senses over that of a machine. no pilot wants to completely rely on a computer and doing so actually decreases situational awareness while adding to workload.
