"I can only draw clouds." -Nova 2015 regarding backgrounds, 3 days agoSelf-imposed illustration challenge. As a way to practice compositions, I drew squares with backgrounds in them in a sketchbook during work breaks. This was based on one of them, though it came with its changes.
The character is based on this illustration I practiced a few months ago: fav.me/d8oca8e. However...the only reason she was drawn in this one was because I wanted a girl in a straw hat and summer dress //smacked I have no name for her (yet) but suggestions are welcome.

"If it's a highway, why doesn't it have guardrails?" That's something even I don't know...
Update 10/9/2015: She now is named Wendy. Short for Wendell, which means "to wander." Expect her to crop up in illustrations occasionally.

I'm in love with background and coloring, absolutely cute and perfect. To be honest, you should practise anatomy more. Her bottom is smaller than upper body.

Thank you for the feedback as well! I caught on to that a few weeks after posting it back in May (can be seen from more recent works). One of the things I'm trying to unlearn currently is the size of the head in relation to the rest of the body (which is what you probably noticed here).

Thanks Lienai! It took a bit to work them out, and I originally envisioned it a bit differently at first xD glad things turned out in a way that exceeded expectations, it makes me want to draw more illustrations like this again Cx
