*One Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Two years later*Mika: *Sitting on her bed reading a book and swinging her legs* *Looks about 5 years old* *her eyes are a light blue and her hair is still brown but a little shorter*
*A knock on her door*
Mika: *Looks at the door* Come in
*A tall man with short dark brown hair and green eyes opens the door and walks in smiling*
Mika: Hi dad *Smiles*
Aaron: Hello Mika, I have a surprise for you *Holding something behind his back*
Mika: Really? What is it?
Aaron: *Smiles* If I told you it wouldn’t really be a surprise now would it?
Mika: Please?
Aaron: Alright, close your eyes and no peeking
Mika: Okay *Closes her eyes*
Aaron: Keep them closed
Mika: *Nods*
Aaron: Now hold out your hands
Mika: *Does so*
Aaron: *Puts a small box in her hands* Alright, you can open your eyes now
Mika: *Opens her eyes and looks at the box* what it is?
Aaron: Open it
Mika: *Opens the box*
*It was a music box, it had a young girl figuring picking flowers*
Mika: *Eyes widen* Wow
Aaron: Turn the little switch
Mika: *Does so*
*it plays a beautiful little tune*
Mika: *Smiles runs over to Aaron and hugs him* Thank you dad I love it!
Aaron: *Hugs back smiling* you’re welcome Mika
*Eleven years later*
Mika: *Sitting quietly on her bed staring at the floor* *Looks about 16, eyes still light blue and her hair is medium long in length*
Aaron: *Knocks* Mika? May I come in?
Mika: *looks at the door* Yes
Aaron: *Walks in* Mika what’s wrong? You’ve been locked in your room for the past few days
Mika: *Sighs and looks at him* Mother keeps trying to pick men for me and she gets mad when I’m not interested in them...*Looks down* I don’t know what to do...should I date the men she chooses? Or break her heart?
Aaron: *Walks over and sits on the bed next to her* your mother can be very pushy that’s true
Mika: *Looks at him*
Aaron: And your mother is doing what she thinks is best for you and it’s always good to listen to your parents
Mika: *Looks down*....
Aaron: But sometimes you have to go against what your parent’s think and do what YOU think is best for you
Mika: *eyes widen* But mother?
Aaron: Mika, you should follow what your heart says, not your mother, she will understand your decision in time
Mika: *Smiles and hugs him* Thank you father
Aaron: *Smiles and hugs back* You’re welcome Mika
*A few months later*
*5:30am*
Aaron: *Already up and getting dressed*
Mika: *Starting to wake up* *Looking about 16 years old*
Aaron: *Walks by her room and looks in* *Smiles* Good to see I’m not the only one up at this time
Mika: *Looks over and smiles* Well I do have school
Aaron: *Smiles* I know, you should hurry up if you’re going to make it to school on time, it’s a long walk and you still need to eat breakfast
Mika: I know, there’s no need for worry
Aaron: *Laughs* Good to know, I’m going to go out for a morning hike
Mika: Be careful
Aaron: I will, and if your mother gets up and your still here can you tell her that?
Mika: Sure
Aaron: Great, thank you, Mika *Walks over kisses her forehead then walks out closes her door and walks outside*
*Twenty minutes later*
Aaron: *Hiking up a mountain trail* *its small mountain with many large rocks on it* If I make it to the top in time I can see the sunrise and maybe have my breakfast on one of the rocks
*meanwhile*
Mika: *In the middle of eating eggs and toast for breakfast* *Looks up from her plate* something doesn’t seem right *Grabs her backpack and runs to Merissa’s room then knocks* Mother? Mother, are you up yet?
Merissa: *Shifts a little in bed* I am now *Yawns and sits up* what is it Mika?
Mika: Mother I think something bad is going to happen to father, he went on a hike but I have a terrible feeling something bad is going to happen
Merissa: ......I think you’re right, I’ll be right there *quickly gets dressed and opens the door* Do you know where he might have gone?
Mika: He always said he wanted to take me to this mountain trail, he said there was a beautiful sunrise there
Merissa: Do you know where that is?
Mika: Yes
Merissa: Then lead the way
Mika: *Nods and runs out the door with Merissa following*
*Back at the mountain*
Aaron: *Makes it to the top of the mountain and looks towards the direction of the sunrise* Just in time *Smiles and sits on a large rock watching the sunrise*
*A few smaller rocks holding the large one in place shift slightly*
Aaron: *Watching the sunrise oblivious of what’s happening*
*Suddenly the smaller rocks shift giving way to the large rock*
Aaron: *Eyes widen and falls off the rock*
*The rock tumbles down then gets stopped by another rock further down the mountain*
Aaron: *rolls down the mountain after it unable to stop himself until he slams against the same rock* *Rubs his head* that was too close
*Suddenly more large rocks roll down the mountain side*
Aaron: *Eyes widen as they roll and slam right into him crushing him* Ugh! *Coughs up blood*
*Down at the base of the mountain*
Mika: This is it
Merissa: Let’s hurry! *Starts running up the trail as fast as she can*
Mika: *Following after her*
*Fifteen minutes later*
Mika and Merissa: *half way up the mountain*
Mika: Father! Where are you!
Merissa: Aaron! Can you hear me!
Aaron: *Hears them* Mika...*Blood coming out from the corner of his mouth* Mika...
Mika: *Blinks and looks around* Father? *Sees him eyes widen* Mother look!
Merissa: *Looks over eyes widen as well* Aaron! *Runs over to him* Oh Aaron *Starts trying to move the rocks* Mika! Help me move these!
Mika: *Runs over and starts helping to move the rocks*
Merissa: *Holds her hands out to Aaron* you’re going to be alright *hands glow and tries to heal him as fast as she can*
Aaron: *Trying to stay awake* Mika...
Mika: *Keeps moving rocks as fast as she can* It’s ok I’m almost done
Aaron: Mika....you know it’s too late...
Mika: *Trying not to cry* No it’s not, after I finish moving all these rocks mother will heal you and then you can come back home
Aaron: You’re always so hopeful...but you’re lying to yourself and you know it...
Mika: No you’re going to be alright *Trying harder not to cry*
Merissa: *Trying to heal him faster*
Aaron: Mika look at me...
Mika: ....*Looks at him with tears in her eyes* you can’t die
Aaron: *Wipes the tears from her eyes and kisses her forehead* Mika you are a wonderfully bright young woman and I love you....but you know I’m not going to make it
Mika: No...mother can save you
Aaron: *Smiles at her* I am proud to have been your father.....and I am happy I was able to stay with you for as long as I could...*Eyes closes slightly*
Mika: *Eyes fill with tears again* father
Merissa: Aaron, stay awake!
Aaron: Please Mika....stay happy...don’t lose that smile...
Mika: Father, please don’t go
Aaron: *Eyes close a little more* I love you Mika and I always will......remember to follow your heart.....*Eyes close all the way*
Mika: *Eyes widen* Father no!
Merissa: Aaron, Aaron, open your eyes please!
Aaron: ........
Mika: *Looks at Merissa* He’s still alive isn’t he?
Merissa: *Takes his wrist and checks his pulse*....*gently lays it back down and hangs her head* He was hurt too badly....there wasn’t enough time...
Mika: *Starts crying* Father *Hugs his body and cries into his chest* I love you
Merissa: *Looks at Aaron* Goodbye....Aaron *slowly stands up* Mika...let him go...we need to bury him...
Mika: *Slowly let’s go and nods* It should be here....this was his favorite place.....and that way he can always see the sunrise...
Merissa: Alright...I’ll go get some shovels from the house...you can stay here if you want...*Starts walking down the mountain*
Mika: *Looks at Aaron again*.....
*Thirty minutes later*
Merissa: *Comes back with two shovels* *Sets them down, walks over to Aaron picks him up and carries him to the top with Mika’s help*
Merissa and Mika: *Gently lay Aaron down*
Mika: *Goes back to get the shovels and starts digging*
*Ten minutes later*
Merissa and Mika: *Finish digging and lay Aaron gently in the hole* *cover the hole with dirt and then put the shovels down*
Mika: *Sits by the newly made grave and stares at it*
Merissa: *Puts a hand on her shoulder* you don’t have to go to school today....I’ll go take the shovels back....you can come back home when you’re ready...*Picks up the shovels and walks away*
Mika: I promise father, I will always follow my heart...
