The Plaguebearer is a specialized unit of the Cyclopean Order. They originated as members of the Emperor's Royal Guard and owe their name to their actions during the battle for the Imperial Palace, wherein a handful of Guards proceeded to trap and destroy a rebel detachment by flooding a chamber with noxious chemicals.

Like their predecessors, Cyclopean Plaugebearers aim to perfect their methods of chemical warfare. Standard equipment include the poison-infused Baneblade. The left arm is usually replaced with a poison/acid-spraying Blight cannon or a flamethrower.

The Cyclopean Order was the first to accept the dark transformation of the Emperor, and proceeded to emulate him.

Cyclopean battle tactics are those which use cunning and tenacity to accomplish their objectives, but are not afraid to use brute force if necessary.

Given their name, the Cyclopeans train their hopes and sights solely on the Emperor and his judgment.

The Templar Order labels the Cyclopeans depraved, while the latter calls the former stale and inflexible, remarking on how Templars adhere to old beliefs, traditions, and tactics in an ever-changing battlefield environment.
