Description The sequel of:

I tried to make it epic and I'm rather pleased with the result even if it's done in a rush again. A friend sent me some pieces of annotated storyboards like a tutorial and there was some good advice that I put in practice here to give more dynamism through perspective. I've the feeling I'm rather good at putting in practice quickly what I learn and I learn rather quickly as well, I feel I'm improving. I have too. I must do it, hey, I need to find a job asap!
Also maybe I'll post the 5 pages I did yesterday to day but it's not sure. I'm taking a day off like some real sunday. Been working the whole week and I'm tired. Still human XD

More about this page, I'm of course referencing to Children of the Sky , this wonderful book found since Morrowind (very strangely it could be found in Kagrenac's library among books that even dated from the second or third Era or so for quite some of them, maybe Sotha Sil left them there a day he was bored in the Red Mountain )
This little book states that the Nords can use the Voice and shout words of power just like the kiai of Akaviri swordsmen. So what if our hero, there in Akavir, met such swordsmen practicing the ancient art? Or even trained with Ka Po'Tun people trying to become dragons through dragonspeach and many other practices? All is possible!

Hmmm... Historically, dragons have been extinct for thousands of years, even in Akavir. Though, one of the tribes leaders transcended his physical body to become a dragon, he isn't a dragon in the traditional sense. So... meh lore wise but nevertheless, a very awesome comic

Historically there were dragons well alive and awoken in Daggerfall and Redguard...
Regarding Akavir it's very hard to know what really happened there, it seems that rather than just killing all the dragons the Tsaeci tried to enslave them and those who would not submit would be killed and chased. The Akaviri warriors seemed at least interested in the dragonspeech that they learned (and called Kiai) but maybe they discovered more about dragons.

Regarding Tosh Raka he must likely be an avatar or aspect of Akatosh, not a dragon indeed, rather an earthly divine servant like the Shezzarines. It doesn't exclude that he may speak in dragon language.
Be there dragons or not in Akavir in our current time I believe there are still people speaking the language and training in the art of the Voice/Kiai like there are still Nords doing it in Skyrim.

Oh right! That does make sense!
Either...
1) He learned the Voice in Akavir, since there are still dragons there.
or
2) He's Dragonborn, since the Nerevarine is immune to aging and disease.
I can't wait for more!

Yes, there are dragons - well, supposedly, it's been a while we didn't get fresh news from over there; and the Ka Po'Tun are trying to become dragons like their leader, Tosh Raka (that I believe to be an avatar of Akatosh, hence the name). These tiger-folks must then practice the Voice. Also the Akaviri swordsmen who came along with the Tsaeci could shout, this is a canon fact, they didn't only killed the dragons, they learnt their language and power and surely wanted more, maybe they even knew how to harness the power of their souls to be some sort of dragonborn army and that was the reason why the dragons really had leave Akavir. Everything is possible in this indeed mysterious Akavir!

Also the Nerevarine is supposedly immortal. I tend to think he might even have become some sort of avatar of Lorkhan by absorbing part of the heart's energy when it was destroyed. That would be very ironic, that's why I believe it

From what I read, during the Nerevarine's Seven Trials, he was made to drink a potion the negated the dibilitating effects of the Corprus disease that was going around at the time, yet left the positives of being immune to age and disease.

Yes, wonderful potion made by Divayth Fyr (and maybe Azura as well)

So... your Tang Mo can shout, too? I think I love him, already What was his name, again?

noxfoxArts In reply to Kwenos [2012-03-21 20:14:49 +0000 UTC]

not the Tang Mo (in fact the ape-people and the ice demons must be among the few folk who have very few chances to know anything about dragonspeech) but the Nerevarine, yes. He wouldn't go to Akavir and miss learning this art. Also coming back with a Tsaeci sounds boring, a Ka Po'Tun probably wouldn't have left his country for a place without dragons, so I thought a Tang Mo would be a nice fellow. And I had some in a RP, a whole bunch of crazy brave apes who tried to join the other side of Nirn through underground galleries. They were 300 at start, 100 perished on the way and after wandering underground for decades they ended in a big cave full of dragons in Highrock where they settled in secret. Very polite and humble people. There were two ambassadors, Yao and Jun.
Now I will name the one here... err... Shu. He doesn't know but he's got common ancestors with Yao and Jun from centuries ago

Shu and the Breton-ish Tang Mo... That sounds like a good bait for the fangirl in me

Then you'll surely need to download EBM when it's available in few days! It will add at least 23 new books in Skyrim and make 6 Destruction spell books readable (Flames, Sparks, Frostbite and the 3 Runes) with actual content explaining how to cast the spells.
If all goes well we should aslo have the ABCs for Barbarian [link] with *LaggyCreations 's illustrations.

I hope I'll get some endorsements for this mod, I really want to apply for a job at Bethesda. I've written all those books since last December on the little free time I had while hardworking for another game company. I think I'm rather efficient... 15 books were written within 5 weeks.

Nice! I'll keep an eye on it. Being able to read spellbooks piqued my curiosity And *LaggyCreations 's book in game would be great (a pity the hard work she put on the cover and binding can't be properly seen, though).

15 books in 5 weeks and working at the same time? How do you do that?

Good to see some interest, don't hesitate to spread the word^^
I'm going to see if I'm brave enough to prepare some level building to attract more people to come up with a big awesome quest mod involving cool stuff like traping Dwemer centurions to study them without breaking them, meeting cool necromancers (not stupidly obsessed with zombies), traveling to Oblivion (possibly because you're dead?), meeting "civilised" Falmers... (and of course it would all make sense, fit the lore, etc)
So much fun is possible!

I don't know how I did. Plus I had a girlfriend to take care of somewhat. I discovered I could work very very fast with a still good quality. I hope it will help make my profile interesting to Bethesda.

Ooooh! Quite the ambitious project! Sounds even harder to someone who can barely program the microwave oven... I'd love to hear more about that mod!

You can follow TESmods.blogspot.com, we try to make frequent updates about the advancement of the mods we're working on, tell about mod projects etc.
Tonight I made some level building to create a library, well, except that it's the library of a dissident mages organization in a Dwemer ruin... but it's turning good. There are gateways everywhere, it looks a bit like a roller coaster I assume but it was fun to do. Tomorrow I plan to add some more rooms and add furniture to give the feeling people lived there.

What...WHAT THE NEREVARINE IS DRAGONBORN? OMFG

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

noxfoxArts In reply to PunkRoctorok [2012-03-21 20:04:12 +0000 UTC]

not necessarily dragonborn, but trained in the art of the Voice. There are quite some folk who know this art in Akavir, there are still dragons over there, a whole dragon fan people lead by the mighty tiger-dragon Tosh Raka (probably an avatar of Akatosh), and the Tsaeci people who assimilated the dragonspeech before killing the dragons of Akavir.
But they don't call it "Voice" but "kiai" over there. It's all in "Children of the Sky".

mind=blown. i thought the pre-blades destroyed all the akavir dragons and those that survived fled to tamriel.

From what we can read in Mysterious Akavir it seems that the Tsaeci are a little like the Borgs of Star Trek though much less radical and square-minded. They seem to assimilate other people to their own kind, through slavery to begin with probably. They take what's good for them and surely make other folks fit in the place they give them, cutting any bit that gets out of it. The humans of Akavir surely fit in the mold and served the Tsaeci like humans served the Ayleids I assume. I suppose humans manage to raise their conditions with the time to become the swordsmen we know.

Part of the dragons were probably reduced to slaves to survive while the others were killed. But that's still speculation.

Thanks! That would be so ironic... but the art of dragonspeech would very much fit the bearer of the Moon and Star. I wonder if the ring's enchantment also gives better convincing skills in dragon language...?
