But since I see you're switching between Gimp and Mypaint, may I ask what Mypaint has that Gimp doesn't, since I mainly use gimp myself ?

Much better brush engine. I don't paint in GIMP, only edit & texture. Glad you like it!

you mean the brushes are more sensitive to the pressure etc ?

In MyPaint, each brush behaves uniquely. I can control the brush size and opacity instantly with A,S,D,F keys. Instead of pressing control + Z to get back I just press Z. I think it blends better, too. I can use unlimited canvas if I want to or turn it off when I don't. Lots of advantages over GIMP when it comes to painting, really.

it seems a bit complicated to me to remember which keys I should use to do what I want but I guess that I should give it a try then ! Thank you very much for taking time to answer my questions.

It's not MS Paint, it's MyPaint ^_- MyPaint is pretty good for painting. I don't think I would do any better in Photoshop. GIMP is just for misc. editing or quick textures.

aaaahhhhh okaay. lol. I was like WOW. haha. Andd yeah, ps isn't super awesome for painting. I think corel painter would be awesome but, alas, I don't have it.

Thanks for checking my stuff now and then man! Appreciate it a lot.

Values are maybe OK but I'm getting a bit too comfortable in that department, there is a lot to improve. My edge management is poor. And colors... no real knowledge, I just play with it until it feels right... I know I need to play with saturation and color compliments, but not much more. I'd much rather be an experienced painter who would just go for an established palette. On the other hand maybe I come up with something remotely original color-wise that way now and then. Maybe. Then there is stuff like perspective or anatomy or skin tones, where I fail even harder. But I doubt it would be fun if I just knew it all. On the other hand ultra high quality finished paintings might please my ego for a while.

I just use GIMP for adjusting or quick textures and MyPaint is pretty OK as far as painting goes.
