I hate winter. I hate the cold, I hate how early it gets dark, I hate how every day the sky is GREY! And every day it gets greyer and greyer! And I hate all the reds and pinks and whites used for Valentine's Day. And St. Patrick's Day has some green, but it's all displayed outdoors against the GREY! And *FINALLY* Spring comes. It hadn't quite gotten springlike here yet, so I basically did this piece to lift my spirits a little.

To be honest, yes, it did. I normally only draw schoolgirls around September, but I thought I'd make an exception this time.

Looks a little like Rydia from FFIV...

Yeah, a bit. I just like to use green hair. I'm actually quite fond of Rydia, I don't know why I've never gotten around to featuring her in some fanart.

This is a cute overall piece. I love the watery colour scheme of her outfit (and hair) the hues are very attractive and work well together. The cherry blossoms are a lovely touch and work very well to add a sense of pattern and movement in this piece. The detail on the shading of the hair is really nice, but I think it jumps from base tone to highlight a little fast. Some medium tone might help break this up, as would extending some lines down the hair to impress on the texture of the hair. The background feels disconnected from the figure (its the smudgeness) but overall the piece works well as a whole.

Some of the clothing textures also mildly bother me. Like her skirt. I own a few school girl skirts, and I don't think mine fall like that anyway :3 I think you should maybe try to study skirts a little so you can properly portray the 'weight' of the fabric. The flow of the lines right in this piece feel a little... loose.. and don't give a very appropriate feel for the texture of the fabric. The textures of the shirt are also a nice start, but a little.... flat. It kinds makes the piece feel more 2D when there are a lot of forshortening details in here, so its a little sad to ruin them.

I do love how the background has these vertical hard lines and shapes which contrast nice with the softness of the shapes and features of the girl. Nice overall work, just dishing out a little CC.
