Description Aetiocetus cotylalveus was an early baleen whale (Mysticeti) from the Late Oligocene of Oregon. Its mouth was equipped with both sharp teeth and baleen, making its diet something of a puzzle. Not to be mistaken with Artiocetus, an archaeocete whale. I am dedicating this one to .

If it was 3-4 meters, how much did it weigh? I know that it an be hard to estimate the weight of Prehistoric marine animals.

Pretty small, 3-4 meters. Baleen whales had a very modest start...
