Iยดve read your blog post about this ornithopod and I wonder why did it swallow gastroliths?
I thought ornithopods could already chew their food and didnยดt have to rely on swallowing stones to help with digestion.

Yes, that made the scientists wonder too. Since gastroliths are a rare find in ornithopods, it is suspected that they only swallowed stone occasionally or perhaps seasonally to accommodate a change of diet..
