Description This is my "Work in Progress" for Lady Winter - First Snow [link] ... I thought I would try something different and submit it as a Flash "movie" so I could add some music. (Obviously you need a Flash player to view).

It is quite large so it may take a while to load!

I am not sure if I like this format or not (no reflection on the wonderful music) ... opinions and feedback would be very welcome.

Also, please let me know if the music is too loud!

A huge THANK YOU to Buze Julien [link] for his the use of music piece "Outro" from A New Begin. Usage is through Creative Commons and you can find the permission description here [link]

Also a big thank you to the amazingly talented Marcus Ranum (*mjranum ) for the stock image which I used to created Lady Winter (although she is almost completely redrawn it would have been impossible without the original image as inspiration!)

Once again Marcus your work and your models are astonishing and lovely!

The Landscape and Sleeping Statue are both from Photo's I took in Scotland.

I've tried to depict that time ... just when you know that it is going to snow ... the sky is clouding over and smoothing out, there is a sense of stillness and the air has a scent of snow ... the only thing you will sometimes hear are the crows calling to each other to warn of the coming weather.

This one has a poem to go with it which you can find here [link]

I love doing these ... I have done GIF animation but have discovered I can add music to them and do them in Flash ... still not very good at it but I think they are a little more impressive and entertaining with the music!

Three cheers to the generousity of the musicians!!!

And thank you for the lovely comment!

I'd love to check this out but I'm on dial-up and 8 megs is a bit much for me. Cool idea, though!

Wow!!! You are very speedy!

I have been thinking about you lately ... with the weather there and all. It seems so strange that we are buried in snow here and you have it so hot!!!

Hope you are alright and managing okay!

It's predicted by the weather people that it's gonna be 47c here this Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's about 115f in the imperial scale!!!
I am very scared about the prospect!
Something bad is happening!
We is in for a major meltdown here.

Stay inside ... drink plenty of fluids ... use Chernobyl grade sunscreen and don't do anything! That is just too hot! I have been in 42-43C in Arizona and Nevada and that was unreal. The wind was like a blast furnace ... there was nothing that was cool except the shower!

I was worried about your being in a more "forested" area and fires ... being in BC we get a lot of forest fires but until the last few years they have seldom been a danger to towns or people (other than Forest Fire Fighters and huge losses in revenue to the forest industry) but we did have some real problems in 2003. Here is a picture [link] of a small city in the interior of BC that was the most affected.

Maybe we should all move to the equator ... that way we would be between your TOO HOT and our TOO COLD ... hold on ... doesn't cold air meeting hot air create tornadoes (or something like that). Maybe we are better to just "weather" it out!

Seriously though ... take care and take it easy as much as you can

Thanks Nancer.
I live on the coast, so it will prolly only get to 40 to 43c here.
I worry most for the folks living in the interior.
We just had a massive heat wave in South Australia and Victoria that killed heaps of old folks.
The power stations even shut down due to the overload on A/C units.
Scary stuff this climate change shat!

ONLY 40 - 43 I would be dead!

I know what you mean about the older folks ... it is always a problem here in Canada when it gets very cold ... the old and the homeless suffer.

I heard about the Power Station shut downs! What a drag!

I try not to think about the climate change except to do my bit with cutting back on comsumption (gas, plastic ... you know) other than that what can you do!

It's no where near as bad where I live as opposed to Victoria and South Australia.
The fire storms are raping and pillaging every thing in their path!

Over 700 homes burnt to the ground and about 130 people have died so far!
Thanks so much for the kind thoughts!
It's like Hell here at the moment!

Cheers Nance.
Just in time for the Global melt down!
This stuff has to stop!
Everyone has a stake in everything here on Earth now a day's.
It's our Planet, our backyard, and it's gettin all messed up!!!!
