Description This is another self portrait in a serious attempt to create a High Key image from PS manipulation. I love high key photos especially in portraiture and since I had no recent subject here is me again.

i have a huge smile so I avoid shooting that cause it feels silly
anyway high key is generally overexposed but if you have a normally exposed image you push it in PS to look overexposed...
I like it too and hope to use it some more...

well I have... as I said my self portriats are borderline failure but a friend will be shooting me shortly and I trust she will portrait me much better

This image doesn't spell out high key for me though... it's just a really nice overexposure potraiture. Maybe I have my ideas about high key wrong, but I think it needs bright colors combined with blown highlights...

hmmm .. I was reading about hight key and it said that you can have all the way to black in a high key... high key is just overexposed but not flat.... the point is do you like it?

Ha ha!! This is great! The High Key style is great. I really like it.
I can see detail in the iris of your eyes as well as a tasteful highlight in them.
Personally I think that just a tiny bit more contrast would have made the
image even more breathtaking!! It's a eitherway!

thanks you! Well I did not want to push the contrast more cause the high key has to be a bit not totally but a bit flat... like overexposed... some say you shouldnt have black but only up to brown in it... I will try it some more though on other portraiture.

I love highkeys too.. You know My last ID (not the one with th ebaby me) was taken to become a highkey but I deciaded that highkey goes well only on girls! You can try the same without burning the highlights though!

A little bit much for me because your face really mixed with the background. It is like a picture which has not have any 3-D effects! It makes the details harder to be seen but... It has some advantages too Your face seems to be lighten with a holy light and it adds an impressive effect!!!
[After all your beautiful monastery photos I became obsessed with holy things... ]

I am not sure about the angle... it is a bit from below cause I was holding the camera to the mirror but... the lighting is all process...

Certainly on par.. I think more of a CD cover look! ... OK...Had a look at your past self portraits ... feedback..

Self portrait attempt: Beautiful! Like especially your wind blown hair and the dark light contrast.
Reflecting: Intense and attractive, similar to this one.
Selfportrait: Looking a bit anxious - nice tones though, hand a bit distracting. I'd crop for the face more.
Second Self Portrait attempt : Phew... It's getting a bit warm in here!
Me: Like how youare smiling through your eyes... they are a lovely asset!

Beautiful
You're expression is much less staring than in the last one. The hightones make your skin look like alabaster and your eyes like onyx. Yet the movement in your hair keeps you from looking like a statue.

That must be the most poetic comment I have ever recieved
I know about the here they are a bit closed and lok more natural although to me (knowing my face) they look sleepy... the one thing I do not like at all in this is the angle. Since I wa holding the camera lower than my face it is shot form below which gives it a snobish feeling that is very unlike me...

Well, occasionally I'm inspired to wax poetic

I know what you mean with the problem of having the camera lower than your face. You try at to look at the mirror and the camera at the same time, which tends to end up with either a pic that has you somewhere half out of the shot, or slightly looking downwards.
Speaking of mirrors, did you de-mirror the shot to make it look a regular shot or is this the mirror you?

hmmm this is a good question... this is what i see inthe mirror so I felt that was the real me as I have always known me but now that you mention it that is not what you all see... so no this is not the reaal me

well that expression was taken way before I decided to high key this so... perhaps it is the eyes i tey to keep a bit closed so they will not look weird... thanks though dear
