Description I put this in here once all colored and pretty. But no one liked it. Seriously. It didn't get fave 1.

The truth is that I DO like the pencils better.

This is Kol is his most natural state, wading through the waters of a Hawaiian spring. The two flowers ... well, that's personal.

Hawaii is his favorite place. He was born there long before the white folk came along and took it. His mother and 12 older half brothers still live there. On any given day, he can be found wading in volcanic craters, swimming in the springs, screwing with people in the cities or surfing out on the ocean. (No, he's not too big to surf. It just means his board is bigger ... or so he says.)

This is a few years old. And I remember using a photo reference for it. If anyone can figure out what it is, please let me know so I can credit it properly.

I like how the angle accentuates the body, but doesn't hide the emotional features of his movement and face.

In an effort to keep my gallery from looking too crowded, I took out all of the pieces with no faves or comments a while back. But the color was not all I wanted it to be and may try it again later. Sorry!

The pain in his face is something that immediately draws my eye. He looks like hes trying to get away from some sort of deep pain you know? either that or being at home lets him sort of get it all out. He is quite beautiful like this, that sort of vulnerability in a man always just makes me want to hear more about them, just to try and understand.

Yeah, he's mourning two people he loved in this one. But that's Kol all over. He goes to great lengths to look like a jerk and a bully, but some are not fooled. Like babies. Babies love him. He's a demon, and so he's confused, but really happy about it at the same time.

He looks really awesome and the sketch has a certain mood to it, that makes it really atmospheric and deep

Whoa.. You draw very beautifully! I really love the way the water is drawn.

And there is nothing wrong pencils! Pencils are nice unlike calligraphy pens (I'm still learning how to use that pen of mine XD)

Amazing job! He looks awesome, I eally like his expression (and his body, haha) ANd U know - characters standing in the water is one of my favorite pictures. Also I love when characters are under the rain. SO... I'M FAVING IT!

It's so expressive! I can't imagine that it needs anything else done to it. It's perfect. But now I wanna dig and find the other version.

This is an interesting side of Kol. What is he thinking here? He looks so terribly sad.

I took the other version down a while ago. It just wasn't good enough.

Here he's mourning two people he loved very much. He is a goofball, but there are some things that really sober him up.

I had to drop a tom of deviations that had no faves and comments a few months ago ... just to lighten the load a bit. The colored one was, unfortunately, cut. I may color it again when I am more comfortable with my coloring.

Huh, Hawaii is Orethiel's favorite place too. Must be something in the water. I don't remember seeing the version with color, but I like the simplicity of this a lot, it feels like it doesn't really need anything else. Good work on the angle, I HATE drawing top-down angles so very, very much...

Yeah, I found that the color did detract. It was originally drawn to be black and white only. I was looking at a photo, so I got a cheat on the angle.

She can visit Kol's mom in Kilauea ... and would probably run into at least one of the brothers. (Just hope it's not Kahaka! He's kind of a dick. Tell her to try for Kameha.)

WHAT?!?! I never saw it! This is definitely a great sketch to see, I love the way you drew his pose, its so stoic yet fluid because of the surrounding water ( im not sure that makes sense lol) BUT this is still sooo great!! I would love to see it colored haha!

Well, the coloring was not my best. I actually took it out of DA after a while. (It was a really early addition.) I think it looks better this way.
