Thank you Read through the pdf tut. I have one question about the 'painting glass reflections' part, you had three shapes overlayed, do you mean by that we should see through to the middle one and paint those colours, so it is a matter of painting what the glass is covering?

nuevemonos In reply to kungfoowiz [2012-11-28 23:38:42 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!! Oh no, it's more simple. I was explaining that you can draw those three figures, so imagine that the reflections in the handle are full of different "figures" and you need to put the right one on the right place..When seeing the finished handle, the result looks like "too much", but I just applied this method. In fact, if you want to paint sth photorealistic, you'll need to put the right thing (color, shape, etc) on the right place.
Thanks for stopping by!

Okay that makes it a bit clearer. So we need to find particular shapes and be consistent in our choices perhaps?

Sorry, I can be very confusing to talk to, I just have to talk alot about stuff to fully get stuff.
In this case, for painting I am particularly curious

No problem Yes, you're right. I found myself all zoomed in with the handle and painting different little shapes in size and color...then when zoomed out it was a stunning cristal like effect. That's why I explain it that way

Saw the Thumbnail and thought 'Yeah. It's a photograph.' Then I read the title saying 'Sketchbook drawing' and was blown away! Love the details. How long did it take you to finish this lovely piece?
