Garble and Rainbow Dash had a complicated relationship. After the shield incident, Garble immediately went to Ponyville to give Rainbow a piece of his mind and challenge her to a race. It was hard and long, but Rainbow dominated him when she flew so fast she made a Sonic Rainboom. Garble was impressed, flat out amazed at seeing it (you know, before it temporarily blinded him). He later visited her again to challenge her to another race, at least that's what he claimed. After a few times, Rainbow caught on that it was an excuse to see her more, and she would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy seeing him as well. So the 2 had something of a relationship filled with races, and emotional constipation. Sort of a friends with benefits kind of deal. He liked Rainbow Dash, he really did, but at the same time he didn't want to admit to it (a pony and a dragon? That's just not right). He loved her, but his pony prejudice got in the way. So eventually, he left.

But not before spending enough tie together to produce 2 small eggs.

One of which, was Spectrum.

Spectrum is a giant sweetheart. Not acting like either his sister or mother, he's an adorkable guy who likes to knit scarves and hats and turtleneck sweaters and couldn't care less about his missing father or his dragon heritage. He mainly spends his time as a solo flyer trying to catch the Wonderbolts' attention (who don't allow hybrids into their group), and engaging in an intense bitter rivalry with Sopwith for his mother's attention a spot on the team.
