terrific percpective, the archetectural features make for wonderful visual lines, they succeed in drawing the eye down to the base.

AHHH!!Too awesome!Straight to my favs!
I really like the angle at which this shot was taken - from above. It captures very well the winding down, down, down of the stairs. Wonderful location, as well... the green algae/lichens give a gorgeous, organic, old world, castle-like feel. My number one preferred element of this photograph, though, is that it actually causes a real life feeling - vertigo. You feel as if you are actually there, staring down in to the abyss.
Suggestion: Perhaps point the camera farther down in oreder to capture more of your side of the wall...though doing so may ruin the ability to see the stairs, and some of the lichens.
Very lovely artwork.
Sincerely,
Laura

very cool concept, very cool place...but i still dont like the image. What is up with the way the hue seems to switch on the right side of the image?

Wow. I guess it's because of the perspective, but you really get a sense of vertigo or what it would be like to plummet to its depths. I love the fact that it shows a jorney through dank passageways only to emerge in beauty at the journeys end. I guess every photo tells a story but you do this far more effectively than most.

i really like this photo.. it is really unique! the stairs at the top bring the viewer directly into the photo... your image is in complete control of the viewers eyes... that's really awesome! i would like to have seen a lil bit more of the bottom...but that's just me... overal a REALLY awesome composition and shot! *applauds*

well, i know it took me long enough to come back to da and finish commenting what i started, and i'm sorry, but anyway.
it seems you've mastered the art of incredible angles, from what i've seen with most of your pictures, and this could very well be my favorite. not only the depth of the well is perfectly brought out, the colors are incredible, the greens contrasting with the near purple, the yellowish hue of the bricks around the stairs and the windowshaped holes... and the plants hanging from them... and the stairs, you show just enough of them, the overall detail is crisp, sharp, incredible. you've really brought out the mystery of ancient times, leaving a mystically obsessed person such as myself with memories of theories and witches and spells...ooh, you know what? this picture is perfect!

Dude, I love you, if you weren't a guy I'd be humping your leg right now just to let you know how awesome I think this picture is. Old buildings just have so much character, and this, this definately fits that desription of having character, with its roman arches, weird little niches, passageways, etc. You have found the type of subject matter that makes my eyes pop out of their sockets to look at.
As to the technical approach I see no flaws. It is an interesting angle, brilliant colors, and while the focal point that the viewer is drawn to is at the bottom of the staiwell, there is enough throughout the photo to keep the eyes busy. This is a great picture.

Um. Gah! It's fine the way it is. Don't wreck your picture listening to my bad (and deleted) advice. Love the colours. It's really great. I think I've seen your gallery before.
Byebye now, before I say more stupid stuff

I Like this one, but 'm not sure why, its been done amny times before, but almost always in B&W, but here, due to the grees it makes it look fresh and alive, rather than cold and foreboding!
