The Toydarians [link]

The Toydarians are the most horrible things of the Star Wars universe, but I like them: I like their design incredibly rare, bizarre and original, as I also really like the vocal performance of Andrew Secombe (the voice of repulsive and untapped Watto) and Spanish actor Jaume Lleal does a wonderful job, as Secombe.

Almost all characters are original, of my curious mind. But four characters belong to official canon (:

I have had problems with finding a nice color for the character, mixed colors (although, for males, I prefer to use muted colors, and I used bright and attractive colors to females). And the stubble beard of Watto looks very good XD.

An Details of my invention are the clothes of Toydarian females. Much is still unknown for this species, and female have only appeared in comics or video games (never in the TV series or movies), so this is my invention:

You can see the similarity to the costumes female Indian Subcontinent, the Sari. And some of them have on their bodies and wings, a sort of floral designs or based on the mehndi (or henna tattoos). In the official canon, few toydarian females have appeared, Rozatta is the only known (and she is a female version of Watto, ungainly and orange). I wanted to then make a design more feminine and attractive (but bizarre).

So, my inspiration for these Toydarian females were the Bollywood actresses (the beautiful actresses like Rekha, well known for her famous and perfect interpretation of Umrao Jaan [link] , Madhuri Dixit [link] , Kajol [link] and or Aishwarya Rai and her another version of Umrao Jaan [link] ... funny, because this horrible creatures born in the beauty of bollywood. Although the design of the matchmaker has her beginning in a classic much less romantic, the wicked witch from Snow White of Disney.

Los toydarianos son los seres más horrorosos del universo de star Wars, pero me gustan: Me gusta su diseño increíblemente raro, grotesco y original, como también me gusta mucho la interpretación vocal de Andrew Secombe (la voz del repulsivo y desaprovechado Watto (y el actor español Jaume Lleal hace un trabajo maravilloso, tan estupendo como Secombe).

Aquí el texto traducido: Los amantes (the lovers), la hermosa señora (the beautiful Lady), la adolescente (the teenager), el chatarrero (the junk dealer), la prostituta (the prostitute), la casamentera (the matchmaker), el carterista o ladrón (the pickpocket), el joven muchacho (the young boy), la madre (the mother), el rey (the king), el contrabandista (the smuggler) y la aventurera (the adventuress).

Lo más complicado ha sido encontrar un bonito color para cada personaje, y que más o menos sean dispares (aunque a los hombres he preferido darles colores apagados y a las mujeres intensos y llamativos). Y la barba de tres días de Watto ha quedado muy bien XD.

Un detalle de mi invención son las ropas de las mujeres Toydarianas. Aún se desconoce mucho de esta especie, y las mujeres solo han aparecido en comic o el videojuegos, nunca en la series televisivas o en las películas, así que todo esto es de mi invención:

Es fácil ver la similitud con los trajes típicos femeninos del Subcontinente Indio, el Sari. Y también algunas de ellas tienen, sobre sus cuerpos y alas, una especie de dibujos o motivos florales, basados en el Mehndi (o tatuaje de Henna). En el canon oficial, pocas mujeres toydarianas han aparecido, solamente es conocida Rozatta (que es una versión femenina desgarbada y anaranjada de Watto). Yo deseaba pues, hacer un diseño más femenino y atractivo.

Así, mi fuente de inspiración para estas mujeres toydarianas han sido las actrices de cine Bollywood (actrices como la hermosa Rekha, muy conocida por su famosa interpretación de Umrao Jaan, [link] o Madhuri Dixit [link] , Kajol [link] o Aishwarya Rai y su otra versión de Umrao Jaan [link] ... muchas han sido mi inspiración para tan encantadoras toydarianas, cosa curiosa si pensamos que son unas criaturas realmente feas en contraposición de la belleza de Bollywood). Aunque el diseño de la casamentera tiene su origen en todo un clásico mucho menos romántico, la bruja malvada de Blancanieves de Disney.
