This is really nice!

they have somewhat similar markings as the Female Wood duck that I have in my area. Especially the marking around the eye.

Thanks very much for your lovely comments. I've only spent a couple of hours watching these ducks but the female does act very differently to the males, I guess they are vying for her affections most of the time.

Yeah the males look more spectacular but the females have a real subtle beauty about them. They are a lot more elegant too!
