I love the way the masked figures emerge from the mist/smoke/duststorm behind the main figure, it's very eerie and ghostly- suitable forshadowing for the character, I'd say. XD

I like the concept, but it kind of falls a little flat. It's hard to deviate my eyes away from the stark contrast of his blonde hair, when the rest of the piece is so much more of a deep earthy brown. I find myself coming to the same spot, and not really looking at the picture as a whole.

I see what you mean... The colours overall were originally pretty dull, but they brightened up a lot more when I lay some colours over top, and I guess his hair was one of the parts that was over-brightened. I could dull it down a bit, that might help.

one of my favourite tricks is to brighten certain aspects so your eye follows that and moves throughout the picture, though I think in this case it would make things even more centered around the face. Dulling it down would probably be the best option, though you do risk making it appear flat.
I think it's in the undertones, I can notice a lot of red and yellow/orange, maybe something on the opposite (I'd use green) to push some of those shadows further and give it more depth? Feel free to disregard my opinions, as I don't claim to be some guru, but I hope you can take anything I've said and make it work for you.

Well, in all honesty it really is supposed to be focused on him (and his face, maybe?) and the rest of the cast is more like support than anything.
I did dull down his hair a bit, and i did like it a whole lot better (i also got rid of that weird gradient thing going on), so I'll probably upload it tomorrow.

alright, sounds good. I'll look for it when I get back from work tonight.
I should also say if I ever bug you with something like this I don't mind being told to STFU x]

Thank-you!
I guess I wanted the whole look to be sand-ish, but i could try adding a few reds.
