Yuzuna's world is a parallel universe of Yuumi's Yu-Gi-Oh! World (Kind of follows the same logic as how the worlds in Arc-V are divided, but not the same story). Like in Yuumi's world, the card game was only that: a card game. However, soon technology was invented that used a new form of energy, named Dimensional Energy, developed by the world company Dimen Co., that allowed people to miniaturize the Holographic arenas into small Duel Disk, and soon, people around the world could play whenever they want. However, unlike in Yuumi's world, Yuzuna's world was more interested in another version of normal Dueling. In her world, Riding Duel is the most famous version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dueling, and most of the more famous Duelist in this world are Riding Duelists.

Since she was a kid, Yuzuna wanted to be one. She started with a small bicycle, but obviously have troubles with only that. However, she lived alone, her fathers having died years ago, and so she had to do small jobs to live, and to get some cards from the trash, eventually making small competitive decks. With those, she participate in betting duels, where people bet some cards on a duel, and whoever wins gets the spoils. She lost many times, but won others, and eventually, she got enough cards, either by betting or buying on her own, to get her own Scynchro-style Dark Magician Deck.

She began to work on a motorbike shop, where she learned how to fix them. Eventually, using spare parts and parts she bought on her own thanks to the store owner, she began to build her own Duel Runner, the Artic Sonata, and soon she managed to participate in small tournaments with it. At the age of 19 years old, she manages to enter the Regionals, and participate in them. After a very close match with what will be her rival, she managed to win, getting the Championship. She was crowned as the regional champion.

Weeks later, strange events began to happen all arround the world. Some dark creatures began to appear all around the city, and began attacking humans. Yuzuna, along with many other duelist, quickly learned that they could use their own Duel Monsters, as for some reason, they summoning them managed to kill these creatures. Yuzuna used this, and tried to save as many people as she could from the Monsters...but soon discover a danger. When one of her Dark Magicians died because on an attack, she felt her heart burn, as she saw her Life Points going down the same ammount as her monster's ATK Points. She learned that, if she gets to 0, she will die, as other Duelist learned the hard way. Still, in time she can recover, and continued fighting against these monsters.

However, days later, something horrible happened: The whole energy grid collapsed, and all Duel Runners stopped working. They weren't able to summon anymore. What was worse, a giant eye appeared in the sky all around the world, causing panic and confusion across the whole population. Yuzuna saw that she was in trouble when her Duel Runner stopped working, and she couldn't do anything as she was surrounded by dark creatures. This was her end...

...if she was not saved by a man with a large Key, who appeared out of nowhere and killed them. She saw that this man looked like her, like it was her nale version...and he was. He said his name was Alan, and he came from another universe. He was actually jumping from universe to universe to recollect some items known as The Orbs Of Chaos, when he jumped into a universe close by, where people also played Card Games with holograms like in this one. That world just suffered a catastrophic event, as a Void Deity, an eldrich abomination, was absorving that universe life force, and that this world will be next. Right now, he was ferrying as many people as he could from the other universe to this one, since this one is 'safer' than the other one, ebfore he jumps them into another one. He said that many universes are right now connected by that thing in the sky, and that he is fighting them all.

She wants to help, but she can't do anything. He ask her if she could help him taking care of all surivors, ant take them out of the city, and she agreed. So, Yuzuna became his bridge to another universe.

Days later, Alan came back...with another girl that looks JUST like her. He said her name is Yuumi, and that she was the 'Yuzuna' from another world. Both girls talked to each other, as Alan keep fighting and ferrying survivors, and soon Yuzuna learned that Yuumi ALSO had a Keyblade. When asking how she got her's, Yuumi blushed a little, saying that to get her's she had to get 'intimate' with Alan, as that was the only way to get one in such a short time (Keyblades in Alan's universe take 10 to 15 years to create, as they are WAY stronger than normal Keyblades), by getting something called 'Pure Energy'. Because of the Keyblade, Yuumi can now use her magic to summon Duel Monsters again, and also fight on her own if needed. This gave Yuzuna the idea and confidence to, when she meet Alan again the next day, confront him and ask for a Keyblade, knowing full well what she needed to do.

After a 'night of fun', Alan made a Keyblade for Yuzuna, and the moment she got her's, her Duel Runner activated. It was probably the only one acting right now. Now knowing how to fight, and after training with the Keyblade, the three of them decided to go and raid the Dimen Co. Building, and search for some answers.

So her world is not the normal Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World, but took some inspirations form it.

Similar to the plot in Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, there exist other Universes apart from Yuzuna’s. Yuzuna is the "Nala" of the "Scynchro Universe", while Yuumi is the “Nala” of the “Standard Verse”, while the other connected universes have their own “Nala” girl. The Void creature that attacked Yuumi’s universe in the first place detected the other universes close by and called his minions to found Dimen Co. and try to fuse all the universes into one he could absorb. Yuzuna's universe was one of them.

The duel monsters Yuzuna and others can summon are not sprits per se. Its not like in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Series where they are spirits form monsters in another dimension. They are just creatures that were created by the Dimensional Energy and the Life Force of the summoner, hence why Yuzuna felt her heart burn when her Dark Magician was destroyed by a Void Creature: she lost part of her life force. When its Duel Monster vs Duel Monster, they don’t lose life energy, so normal dueling is fine. It was part of the plot made by Dimen Co. to absorb the residual energy from human’s souls during this clashes.

So yeah, 5Ds Nala. Now to make the other kind of Duel Nalas XD
