Christmas this year has been a relatively low-key one for me, for many reasons. And it's been a little different for the anthropomorphic counterparts in the NextGeniverse™ as well. Original plans went astray, but new ones were somehow put together in their place...and as such, we have for the second time ever (here's the first time ) a relatively huge crossover pic for the occasion!

For those who don't know, from left to right, they are: Dagger Branson, Kale‘a Maciver, Traeci Lee, Matt Johnson, and Chase Gunnarsen, with Raine Torsson (a snow leopard who is a new addition to the NextGeniverse and who's making his public debut here!) practically photobombing in the back.

Inspired by a handful of real-life photos from earlier this year, I drew each character individually and then duplicated the sketches to create a composite, from which I then created the finished design. (This was the first time I've drawn several of these characters in a while; I also previously drew a test sketch of Raine which I never publicly uploaded.) I also decided to go with an alternating red/green color scheme after Traeci's variation of a crop-top-and-skirt casual outfit I designed ended up being a very festive shade of red. And, apparently, I also decided that half the anthro protagonists of the NextGeniverse convened in Florida to spend part of their Christmastime with, which explains this whole situation in the first place.

Also, and I know it's tough to tell, but there is supposed to be [a very vague representation, since I have apparently mastered abstract backgrounds by this point, of] a Christmas tree and a Nativity scene behind our furry friends.
