Second idea I had for Luke's design as a dog. This is more my style* than the original one I drew:...which sticks more to the actual game's style.
*Disney rip-off style, let's speak honestly here.

It's my first digital drawing - i even don't have a graphic tablet, just my mouse and photoshop

Nyaasu, did you choose a specific breed for Luke here or is he just a mutt? xD Weirdo me, but I've been wanting to draw Clark as a dog and I really love the design you chose for Luke. Do you have any suggestions as to what breed Luke's dad would be? eue;

xD Well, I've made Luke a mutt here -- I don't know just why, since I usually assign "pure" breeds to my dog-versions! So...hey, if you want a bit of a challenge, you can figure out what two breeds would mix well to make something that looks like Luke does. xD Perhaps a beagle (Clark), and a spaniel of some kind (...Mrs. Triton whose name I forgot)? That would account for the white parts, and the spots and floppy ears. Or maybe some kind of hound for Clark, it seems to suit his personality. x3
I'm glad to see, by the way, that I'm not the only one who thinks about this sorta thing!

Awesome. Thanks for your input. :3 Actually I was thinking that Brenda would be a spaniel of some kind too. [Maybe Springer.. I'll have to do more research.] As for Clark, he sort of reminds me of a Smooth Collie now that I think about it. Haha! I'll have to sketch out some things.

It was more than sad, every single character lost something important to them

Oh yeah, that's one reason I want more games -- I realize that they are prequels, but I want there to be some happiness. I'm hoping sometime they will make sequels too...I want Layton and Luke to meet up again.

Yeah, exactly >__< Their farewell was so sad, I think I've never seen such a sad scene in a ds game! ...Although the scene before with the Professor crying when Claire left... I don't care that much about Claire, but the Professor was so devastated... ;__; I felt so sorry for him...

Yeah, it was so off-putting to see the professor so distraught, he's very calm and composed, and usually smiling, and if I'd had to predict, after playing game 1, I'd bet that in the entire series, he wouldn't ever break down that way, but it happened!
I thought Claire was adorable, but mostly, I was sad for poor Layton!
...And then he cried because Luke was crying...and I lost it again x3 Dammit, that game was sad.

It felt so heartbreaking to see him like this. He is always so quiet and polite, and never really shows his emotions. And when he shouted her name, it almost hurt just hearing it รณ__รฒ
I found Claire very creepy, but that could be because of her German VA. She sounded just... alarmingly friendly. Just really eerie. Like the creepy mother in horror movies that will lock up her child in their room and cut their ears off if they don't eat the cookies she made. ...Oh gosh I'm sorry 
He really cried when he told Luke goodbye? O.O I could have sworn he didn't. But I'd be glad to hear he did cry! Because I wondered why he wasn't, after all Luke means a lot to him as well >.<

LOL I know of characters with English voices like that and it creeps me out, too, so I understand. Luckily, her English voice wasn't creepy, it was cute. x3
And he had little tears in his eyes when Luke hugged him, I'm pretty sure anyway x3 I hope I didn't just imagine it!

But somehow it made me ship Claire/Hershel on a REALLY weird level, with her subtly controlling him, you know, like that he should wear the pretty hat she bought him all the time and all this 8D
I really gotta re-play that scene, it'd make me so happy if he really did have tears in his eyes! I just love how they are so important to each other, it's so cute ;__;
