CREATE A NEW LAYER, PUT A FEW OF THE BRUSHES [SUCH AS SWIRLS] ON ONE LAYER, MAKE A NEW LAYER, ADD MOREEE
AFTER YOU'VE DONE THAT

anyways AFTER THAT. YOU LOCK THE TRANSPARENCY ON ALL THE LAYERS, THEN MAKE SURE THE GRADIENT TOOL IS ON 'NORMAL'... THENN CHOOSE COLORS THEN USE THE GRADIENT TOOL OVER THE LAYERS. AND IT SHOULD ONLY COLOR THE BRUSHES.
