Haha... though it's not readily apparent from the drawing, the turbines, mounted on the wingtips, are actually quite a distance away from the fuselage a la V-22 Osprey.

But yes, I assume he would get a face full of dust and other nasty stuff

Nope. It's a lot smaller and uses two sets of contrarotating propellers.

The HL Osprey is an existing aircraft (V-22 Osprey). This is a completely different aircraft.

I know the real osprey. The ones in HL were more like osprey-like choppers.
But the resemblence is obvious, no?

Can't say, I never played the original Half-Life

But yes, you could say it looks similar. The HL Osprey has a H-tail, though.
