just a silly mascot I hand-sewed for work :] I used him to teach the family/talking-about-other-people lesson. 4th graders used it to practice: "this is my (mother), her name is ____". 6th graders used it to practice: "this is my friend, her/his name is ____. s/he is good at ____." I'm sure he will continue to come into good use...materials: random knit brown fabric I had, and leftovers from my old t-shirt projects for the feet and hands, embroidery floss, and shredded paper from the paper shredder at work as stuffing. recycling and reusing, w00t!

I have not posted any of my fabric art. Mostly quilting of small things, and applique, an in years past, embroidery. I also paint on the patchwork with clorox or fabric dye or something that will alter the color in interesting ways.
I love weaving, but have only done it as a child on a tiny hand loom. I also love paper-making.
but right now, I am focusing mostly on ceramics and photography, due to limited time. If I had nothing else but art to do, I would do it all. Maybe in a few years, I can do that.

What a great class prop! My government teacher had a stuffed crocodile, and every time someone used the phrase "and stuff" in a discussion he would throw it at them. I think you use yours in a much more positive way

I went into it because I realized I make a lousy waitress ^_^; I didn't realize how much creativity would be involved in teaching! but yes, that is one of the great things about it.
