I intended this illustration for the (unusually short) hot summer in the Philippines. Now it's almost the middle of the rainy season so this one's overdue, but I'm uploading it anyway.Made with pencil, fine line pen, and marker pens for shading.
Also a practice for even more intercrossed hair strands.

Our summer break is about to end. Classes start this Monday, 24 August. I am assigned to teach in subjects that I vigorously prepared materials for, so now I can handle those classes with ease. Now I have time to draw.
I spent a generous amount of my summer doing carpentry work. I made a large LED-backlit table that I use to draw artwork and trace my own artwork to experiment with different clothes and poses. I reckon that I have not posted much since last year.
How are things going on your side?

In my case, I received my Masters in Asian Studies this August and I am beginning to draw as well (first in traditional, then in Digital with my Wacom Intuos ^^)
I went to Kyoto, Japan this summer as well and visited so many temples and castles <333
Also within my adventures, I am now looking for a job and become completely independent ^^ (wish me luck ^^)
I am very happy to see you here again, as you are such an awesome artist and person, as well as an inspiration for me as I decided to start drawing >^w^<

I am slated to go to Osaka in two years' time and stay for one year for the second phase of my PhD degree. But for now I must stay in my home country and complete my first PhD
Lots of opportunities in academia will open up once that degree is completed. Of course, it is every academic's dream to be tenured at an early age.
Let's go onward and pursue our dreams!
