Description A little piece created for my Journal,  Road Trippin' Pt 2So, I'm back! Well, technically I was 'back' the end of last week, but trying to catch up with things put this post (and another) on the backburner. Better late than never, right? Firstly, the trip was awesome! I've gradually improved on my highway driving and there were some fun and challenging drives down down really narrow village roads (like 1 SUV width) roads and of course, the Ghats* which means a lot of twisties! (descent on the way and ascent on the return). I can also attest that I drive about 10kph faster when there's Eurobeat playing in the car. ,Despite being a 'tourist' / out-of-state vehicle, the local drivers and riders were the most polite and considerate lot I've ever seen. I revisited a lot of places from some 8 years ago and it's was a weird mix of things having changed dramatically and things staying the same. (The more rural you go, the less the changes are). It helped that I was driving this time. I could take the folks around to some of the places you don't find on the tourist guide book. It also did not help that I was driving as I am the primary picture taker and with my hands on the wheel, well, I can't take pictures! To make matters worse, in the old days, I'd just plonk the scooter by the side of the road and take a picture anywhere I wanted. This time however, with the aforementioned narrow roads, I did not want to stop anywhere! It didn't help that the wider parts were nowhere near where I'd want to take a picture. Before I left, I did debate recording a vlog of sorts, but a random set of issues on the day we were leaving meant I completely forgot to set up the camera, let alone actually record anything. I did figure out a set-up somewhere before the end of the trip (I used one of the mobile stands in the car and my old mobile phone to record some footage), but now I'm stuck with not being sure what I want to say. Oh well. NGL, I was not looking forward to return to 'the grind', but it turns out, the return journey was pretty much the highlight of the trip. So, when I started learning to drive, I really wanted to do a drive in the rains. Except by the time I was actually confident enough to take to the highways, it was nearly the end of the Monsoons** and all I was getting was drizzle. On the day we were leaving however, I woke up to a thunderstorm and a downpour. We had to delay our departure by an hour and a half till the winds and the heavy rains had subsided a bit, but that was the best drive (or ride) I've had in years. Sometimes, you have to make your own wish fulfilment, but sometimes, the universe does it for you!*Ghats, two mountain ranges forming the eastern and western edges, respectively, of the Deccan plateau of peninsular India. Incidentally, this is also my 2000th deviation

Victory Girl is my OC. I do not drive a sports car, just a basic commuter.
