Umbra is a very reserved and introverted person, keeping secrets and information to herself is her thing. She rarely interacts or talks with anyone unless she deems it so. Running on a default "keeping everyone at 'an arms-length away'" mentality, she never lets anyone get close, except Kaz. Most interactions are simple and straight to the point. She couldn't care less about being well-liked or in the spotlight. Shes not in a habit of trusting people. Nyx won’t trust anyone to the point of leaving herself vulnerable to betrayal. Growing up introverted has allowed her to be self-reliant, knowing she can only rely on herself and safeguards her own interests without relying on others. She often is uncooperative, manipulative, and controlling. She is a perfectionist and wants things to be done her way and she isn't afraid of speaking her mind to show it.
Umbra rarely, if ever, shows emotions. If so, she mostly comes off as cold, uninterested, or annoyed. She doesn’t feel enough interest in other people to justify showing any emotions. When she wants to show emotions, she often lashes out with sarcastic or playful remarks. She doesn't know how to react in painful events, not knowing how what to say or do when others feel grief, pain, or sadness. Seeing death makes Nyx feel numb and cold. The only time she truly shows her emotions is when she is with Kaz. He is able to get her out of her "shell".
Nyx is a superb strategist and tactician and is very intelligent for her age. Most consider her ruthless and dedicated, going to great lengths for a mission, leading her to often get reprimanded for this. Due to her manipulative nature, she can get what she wants, when she wants, no matter the consequences. She sees others as a means to an end, not an equal. She rarely if ever backs down from a fight, especially if she knows she can win. Despite this she knows when to pick her battles as well as finding all she can about her adversaries before facing them down.
The Light and the higher ups in the League of Shadows are the only people she seems to associate with and show loyalty too. She only follows orders of those she respects, even though they may be her superiors. Umbra doesn't care for doing the "dirty work" as she prefers doing tasks rather then sitting back and letting others do it for her. As such, she doesn't work well with others and prefers to work alone.
Umbra has absolute distaste for heroes. This is mostly due to her upbringing in the Shadows and The Light. She despises heroes for saving those who are too weak to save themselves. She has no regard or remorse for those weaker than her, seeing them as inferior. Though she has a certain sarcastic nature towards heroes and often likes playing games with them, trying to distract them for The Light.

Shadow Manipulation: Ability to manipulate darkness and shadows.
Umbra has the ability to manipulate, create, and shape any form of shadows/darkness. This includes making weapons, shields, constructs, turning her body intangible, and teleporting through shadows. As well as being able to create shadow creatures and constructs. She has a direct connect to the shadowlands, where she draws shadows from. She has advanced control and manipulation of her ability but it drains herself depending on what extent she uses her powers. Her ability is limited in the day time and any area that is heavily lit/minimal shadows.

HISTORY:
She was raised by her older half-sister, Olympia Savage, until she was five years old. Alongside her brother, Kaz, who was two years older than her. The only people she knew was her brother and older half sister, who treated her with kindness and love. She never knew her mother and father, not even their names. Olympia refused to talk about them, only saying that Nyx would meet her father eventually. Nyx held onto these words, one day hoping to meet her father. These few years were the only calm she ever had in her life.
Not long after Nyx was thrusted into the world of assassins from an early age. She and her brother Kaz were personally recruited by Ra's al Ghul with the promise to be the strongest and best version of themselves. She was raised by the League of Shadows and saw them as a family for the first years being there. She was went through vigorous training in order to hone in on her skills of hand to hand combat, weapon mastery, stealth, infiltration, etc. Nyx struggled to adjust to this life which was completely opposite to the one she grew up with. She didn't know how to react and felt emotionally stressed. Nyx often went to Kaz for support, which he gladly gave. He was adjusting to The Shadows much easier then her. Nyx tried to make friends with the other trainees but struggled, as she never knew how to. Each day Nyx became colder and reserved to everyone except for her brother, closing off herself. She knew she couldn't live of life of "sunshine and rainbows" in a world made of "doom and gloom". Nyx began training with Ra's al ghul, who was a fierce and imposing leader. He helped her see the world for what it truly was, imperfect. That humanity was the decay of the world.
As years came and went, Nyx left any sort of childish dreams and emotions behind and was often aggressive during training leaving her sparring partners injured and her being reprimanded for it. She no longer saw the Shadows as her family and bid her time there, only seeking to learn knowledge and skills, having no other interest. She knew her true family was, her brother Kaz. By the time she was in her teens she was a ruthless and skilled assassin under the guidance of Ra's al ghul. She was frequently tasked with leading shadows on missions. This missions were to thwart the heroes, steal tech, or whatever was deemed by Ra's.
When she was fifteen she was recruited by The Light as an operative after discovering her ability to manipulate shadows. While, Kaz developed the ability to manipulate memories, dreams, and nightmares. Both her and her brother tested positive for the meta gene. She then met the leader of the Light, Vandal Savage, who she learned was her father. This revelation was a shock to her, but also one that brought anger and sadness. She had silently questioned why she had been raised by her half sister and had been isolated. But she knew why.
Not long after she began training with Shade, who helped teach her control and usage of her power. Shade would remark that her power even rivaled his. During her training she also was mentored by Klarion. She started to branch herself out more after finding common interests with Klarion, including causing chaos. The two on them became fast friends and enjoyed blowing things up and destroying buildings.
Nyx returned to The Light when she was Eighteen and up until now has been running missions and projects that The Light deemed so, while remaining in the shadows. She mostly was the one who oversaw moving operatives in and out of missions undetected throughout the years. She's also been apart of many of The Light's assaults against the Heroes, including the attack on the U.N. Climate Conference, retrieving Shade and Sportsmaster from Star City and later Shade and Mad Hatter in Gotham, rescuing captured operatives, and stealing tech from S.T.A.R Labs. As she rose the ranks, she was made know of the inner circle of The Light.

Vandal Savage:
Kaz: Her closest friend and brother. Kaz being the older sibling is protective of Nyx, despite her hating it. The two of them get along very well. Because Kaz is mute, Nyx is often is voice and speaks on his behalf. Whenever you see Nyx, Kaz is always with her, if not nearby. She heavily confides in Kaz and sees him as the only person she can share her emotions with.
ALLIES:
The Light: Umbra respects most members of the Light highly, as they are her superiors and mentors.
Vandal Savage: The one person she has the most admiration and respect for. She knows hes the most important person in The Light, the one running the show, and as such, needs to show respect for. Umbra views Vandal Savage as a man of high intelligence of stature, admiring his superb tactical strategies that bettered foes for 50,000 years. Both their views align in the sense of survival of the fittest and their hatred of the heroes. Umbra never disobeys any orders from him.
Klarion: Umbra used to look up to Klarion as a mentor as he helped teach her control over her ability when she was young. She sees him as childish and ill-mannered but finds his chaotic nature quite amusing. The two of them are a powerful and chaotic pair when working together on missions or projects. Vandal Savage rarely partners them together after they blew up multiple buildings on a mission.
Lex Luthor: Umbra has appreciation for Lex's intelligence and keen skills. She respects his ambition and his manipulation to get what he wants.
Deathstroke: Umbra respects Deathstroke for his strength and skills. As he is the leader of the League of Shadows, she follows his orders. Though, the two butt heads on things they disagree.
Lady Shiva: Umbra has high respect for Lady Shiva and looks up to as a mentor and idol. She strives to be the swordswoman as skilled as Lady Shiva.
Queen Bee: Umbra doesn't care for Queen Bee, but does respect her leadership and cunning nature, believing shes outlived her usefulness in The Light. Her failures to the team prove this.
Ultra Humanite: Umbra despises Ultra Huminite and finds him rather annoying, only seeing him as useful technology-wise. She avoids him at all costs.
Shade: Umbra and Shade have a connection with the Shadowlands that only they understand. Umbra looks up to Shade as a mentor as he helped teach her control and usage of her shadow abilities.
