This is exceptional. I actually felt a physical ache when I first looked at it.
That odd ghost/muse Javert, who I summon up occasionally, sees me looking at this and asks what in God's name I think I am doing. "One of those things I said I wouldn't... what else is new?" I reply, with a sardonic smile. I haven't finished the book yet, but I know much of what happens. He knows this. He wonders what I derive from looking at this and all other things relating to this scene. He ran across me looking up 'bridge,' 'jump,' etc., in a French-English dictionary and reading about drowning on Wikipedia. He seems to think me disturbed. "I do get a bit preoccupied," I say. I see him in my mind- where he half lives anyway- and know he has scanned something that I didn't say. I say it. "It's your own fault. I could have chosen to ignore you, but what's the use? I prefer to understand. And I'm not about sensationalism. I actually want to know how it was for you, whether there was a great deal of pain, and on what level. It troubles me greatly." I can tell that this is not the sort of thing that would ever have much concerned him. The two of us, with our opposing personalities and situations, really ought to hate each other. With that established, though, we may as well try to solve the puzzle each of us presents to the other.

This is an angle you don't usually see done for this particular scene. I think it really drives home the 'reality' (work of fiction notwithstanding) of what he's about to do, and makes it even more poignant and tragic than the usual overall angst of the scene.
I like that you have his eyes open a bit - he can see exactly what awaits and he's still not changing his mind. I love his expression here so much. Poor Javert. ;_;

*sniffle* It's beautiful. In a bittersweet way.*stifles small sob*
If I was there, I would have tackled him and saved him.
Because I love him.

...You REALLY do like this scene, don't you? Five angles?
(They're all brilliant, but I'm commenting in just one to save you time.)
I still really like his coat. And the water in this one is cool!

Oh, yes, they really are. My trench coat is one of my most prized worldly possessions. Sort of.
Ahahaha, the burn tool is lovely. I do like it. Burn, dodge, and smudge - such fun.

I'm destroying my trenchcoat, sadly. I've had it for several years and wear it non-stop from September through April, and I can't find a replacement in my bloody town. It's now missing a button, has holes in both elbows, the lining is in shreds, and the backside is turning grey (from black). I still love it dearly.
Burn/Dodge is definitely my friend for touching up sketches and enhancing color jobs. I use Filter>Distort>Liquify more than Smudge, though. It blurs less.

I'm sure...
I'm OCD, too, quite so, but I can't screw with my stuff on PS without being afraid of screwing it up. And b'sides, I actually rather like the sketchy look...(:
Ha, really? Brilliant! I'm so jealous of all those chaps out there with tablets...they don't know how lucky they are!...
I mean, really. This, on photoshop, with a mouse: [link]
GAH.

I love the emotion here, and the wind. And the fact that his top hat, et cetera are on the bridge/parapet (I can never remember the proper terms). This is something you'd expect to see in the book, if they ever make an illustrated version.
